Listening Ear Volunteer
Our listening ear service is a telephone service ran by our wonderful team of volunteers. Our volunteers ring Carers that are isolated, don’t get out much or just want a friendly chat. It gives Carers an opportunity too offload some of their worries or concerns about their caring role, and reassures them that there is always someone there to listen.
This role is office based and all training will be provided.
Reading Group - Volunteer Leader
Now that Autumn and winter is approaching there’s nothing better than sitting down in the warmth with a nice hot drink and a good book. We are looking for someone who enjoys reading, who wants to share their passion with others & has a friendly disposition. You will lead the reading group, start conversations about the books you have read each week/by weekly, read out loud to the group and be comfortable leading group discussions.
This will be office based. Training will be provided.
Walking Group Lead – Walk and Talk
Do you like to walking and chatting. We are looking for a friendly volunteer who can lead a brand new walking group & knows nice little walks to go on that are in the local area. This walk will be no longer than an hour a week/by weekly/once a month, giving carers an opportunity to walk and talk to other carers who are experiencing similar things and share the same interests and stories.
The meeting point will be at Sefton Carers Centre. We will provide hot drinks that can be taken on the local walk each week/by weekly/monthly.
