Volunteer Roles

Our listening ear service is a telephone service ran by our wonderful team of volunteers. Our volunteers phone carers who are isolated, are unable to leave their cared for or just want a friendly chat. It gives Carers an opportunity to offload some of their worries or concerns about their caring role and reassures them that there is always someone there to listen.

This role is office based and all training will be provided.

Do you have good organisational and communication skills and are able to utilise technology?

We are currently looking for a volunteer admin worker to work alongside our teams here at Sefton Carers Centre.

The role would be to assist in the administration of a busy office environment with multiple teams.

We offer full induction and training along with a DBS and access to courses and services within Sefton Carers Centre.

You would be made to feel most welcome.

Do you like to be walking and chatting? We are looking for a friendly volunteer who can lead the walking group & knows nice little walks to go on that are in the local area. This walk will be no longer than an hour a week/bi weekly/once a month, giving carers an opportunity to walk and talk to other carers who are experiencing similar things and share the same interests and stories.

The meeting point will be at Sefton Carers Centre. We will provide hot drinks that can be taken on the local walk each week/bi weekly/monthly

Do you enjoy gardening? Would you be able to spare an hour a week to help us maintain our small, raised garden planters? The role would be for anyone who knows how to nurture and maintain plants as we have a mixture of fruit trees, and sensory planters.

This would be the outside area of Sefton Carers Centre and only accessible during Sefton Carers Centre opening hours. You would be engaging with carers, other volunteers and staff. This would be weekly and weather dependent.
