999ReUnite Wristbands Launch at Silcock's Embassy Restaurant

Recently we were lucky enough to be hosting, alongside Alzheimer’s Society, the 3rd successful Dementia Fish and Chips event at Silcock’s Embassy Restaurant where Carers and those they care for were able to enjoy a relaxing time with a lovely meal and an afternoon of entertainment, including a few games of Bingo!

The event also saw the launch of 999ReUnite wristbands. These non-tracking wristbands allow you to use your smartphone to store information on the wristband itself. Should the emergency services become involved then they will know to scan the wristband where they’ll be able to find vital information about the person wearing it.

We have these 999ReUnite wristbands available at Sefton Carers Centre for free collection. Click here to find out more.

Young Carers Halloween Party 🎃

Our young carers had an absolutely spooktacular time at this year’s Halloween party during the October half term! The room was filled with fantastic costumes, including characters inspired by Wednesday and some fierce K-Pop–style demon hunters. Everyone really went all out!

Throughout the day, the group took part in a string of fun and spooky games. From racing to wrap up YC Staff in the mummy race, to diving into pass the parcel, and freezing in place during spooky musical statues. One lucky young carer even took home a £30 prize for guessing the exact number of chocolate eyeballs in the jar!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and shared their amazing costumes and Halloween spirit with us. We’re already counting down the days until next year’s celebration!

Barclays Detecting Fraud Talk

Carer's Pamper Day

With the recent rise in fraud and scams, we were lucky enough be joined by Barclays‘ Community Engagement Ambassador, Nick Lynch, who had an informative chat with our carers during one of our weekly Wednesday Coffee Mornings to deliver some tips on how to identify when something doesn’t seem right to deter fraud and scams.

It’s not always easy to find time for yourself whilst having a caring role. Thankfully, our carers were given the opportunity to do just that after being invited to Southport College recently where they were able to enjoy a free pamper session including mini facials, mini manicures, hair styling and hair conditioning treatments!
